We made it to the hotel!
The hotel is very nice. We got off our flight from Beijing to Nanchung, flight was fine but we were the only Americans on it, that was pretty funny everyone was looking at us like we were nuts. We got yelled at 3 times on flight because ofour seats were not in the upright postion. Apparently you have to have it up more than just the take off and landing. We met our guide Echo when we got off the plane, she is super nice and helpful. After we got to the hotel our room was not ready so we had to wait a half hour in the lobby. We made some calls to home. thank God for Skype. Our room is super nice,, we are all upacked and ready for our 11:00 am meeting to get Emma Lin. So on a funny note I'm sure all first time parents will get a kick out of this. What do you pack in the diaper bag. We got so much advice but no one told us what to put in the diaper bag. So as I ask Ryan what goes in the diaper bag he says " I look it up on line". We just started laughing. I guess we will be doing alot of guessing these next few weeks. We post pics as soon as we get Emma. Thanks for all the comments!

Oh, I'm so excited to see those first pics! Enjoy that first moment--I know it's going to be amazing. As far as the diaper bag, it won't take you but a day to figure out what you need to put in there for her! You will get time to be with her alone in your room and you'll get the hang of what supplies you need for a few hours. Don't feel like you need to put everything from your room in there--she won't need too much entertainment while you are out as I'm sure she'll be wide eyed by all that she can watch as you walk around. Blessings to you all!

It all sounds so exciting up to this point! I hope you're taking lots of pics. The big moment is so close! You are going to be PARENTS - but you already are without even holding her yet. :)Enjoy every second. Can't wait to read more.
ReplyDeleteAs for the diaper bag, you really don't need much: diapers, wipes, sippy cup/bottle, diaper rash cream and a changing pad are your most important. A little toy & maybe some sanitizing wipes for hands. You'll figure it all out in no time at all.

Wow - it is 11:52 here. I wonder if you have Emma? I am praying things go great!
ReplyDeleteI love the diaper bag comment!! So cute! I can just see yous cracking up!
Maybe something like 3 diapers, wipes, ( i always use powder ( it keeps them dryer ) and with that humidity - I have to have baby powder.
Those bottles of gerber juice would be good, and some cheerios.
A rattle and a board book would be good. And I always have a little cotton knit juacket for the airconditon, and a change of clothes would be good ( in case of accidents)
You do not want to know about the Phillies today! it is bad.
But in the world cup America did tie England - so that is a shock! Probably just luck!
I am headed to bed but will check first thing in the morning!!
Love.
Jackie
